Homerton International Festival of Beer and Bar Snacks

There’s a real art to creating the perfect bar snack, and we’re joyed to see that the humble culinary hero is getting its very own festival this weekend with the return of the Homerton International Festival of Beer and Bar Snacks. The 4-day festival will feature everything from pork scratchings to scotch eggs to bao buns accompanying your favourite brews from some of London’s best microbreweries.
Breweries such as The Five Points Brewing Company, Beavertown, Wild Card Brewery and East London Brewing will all be on duty, and there’ll also be DJ sets throughout the weekend from the likes of Wild Beasts, METRONOMY and the legendary Don Letts at this Homerton boozey haunt.

40 Hills of Istanbul

Located in the heart of Dalston, this Saturday one of our favourite breweries, 40ft Brewery, are collaborating with their local Turkish community to co-host a celebration that salutes the heritage of Anatolian history and culture.
As well as some top quality brews from the 40ft crew, there’ll be a collection of historical and modern cuisine with Dalston local mangal contribution while Chef Hus Vedat will cook traditional balık-ekmek (fish and bread). As well as all the Istanbul street food you could wish for, there’ll also be a showcase of Turkish music, dance and film.

Taste Chocolate Festival

Being Easter weekend, it’s only right you check out a chocolate festival. And this weekend Bristol sees some of the country’s best chocolate producers descending to the Taste Chocolate festival, bringing with them one of the UK’s biggest celebrations of chocolate.
The two-day event will feature over 30 exhibitors, chocolate demonstrations, a Prosecco bar, a history of chocolate exhibition and new for this year, a multi-sensory experience, inviting you to experience chocolate like never before. Naturally, there’ll also be a Treasure Hunt!

The UK’s biggest gaming festival is back this Easter with Insomnia60. With everything from talks with YouTubers to Esports tournaments, Insomnia60 is a paradise for gamers with some of the best talents in the UK Competitive scenes battling it out across various games and multiple stages.
But if you get all gamed out, or are being dragged along by your gaming obsessive friends/partners, there’ll also be plenty of music across the weekend too with the likes of Years & Years, Chase and Status, and Wretch32 taking to the stage.

Things to Do This Weekend in Manchester
Manchester Duck Race 2017
Friday 14th April. Free.
A Northern alternative to the Boat Race, the Manchester Duck Race is back for its eight year in a row this Good Friday. Thousands of Joes, Janes and their little ones fill the banks of the River Irwell as they watch hundreds of rubber ducks race downstream.
Ducks on the day cost £1 with all proceeds going to local kid’s charity, Brainwave. Racing starts at 2pm, but there’s tons of stuff going on around the Spinningfield area of town all day, with film screenings, street food, craft workshops, music, fairground rides, and even an Urban Farm petting zoo on duty.
