Forever at the forefront of footwear technology, adidas have once again teamed up with ocean defenders Parley to reinvent the plastic economy. The latest collection sees the duo working in tandem to transform marine plastic pollution into high-performance sportswear, turning the problem into the solution. Introducing the adidas x Parley UltraBOOST Collection.

The upcoming adidas x Parley UltraBOOST Collection includes three UltraBoost silhouettes; the adidas UltraBOOST 3.0, the UltraBOOST Uncaged and the UltraBOOST X for women. All three trainers feature ‘Ice Blue’ uppers which offer a crisp and refreshing look of white and icy blue that’s perfect for the summer.

Each pair is made from yarn spun from recycled and reclaimed ocean plastic, with the adidas Primeknit uppers offering some integrated support that hugs your foot. Our favourite is the summer-ready UltraBOOST but we also love the Uncaged which comes in the same colourway as the other two, but does also feature various nautical hues throughout the whole upper.

adidas have been working in partnership with Parley for the Oceans for a couple of years now, with the sports giants and the activist group hoping to clean the oceans of plastic by campaigning for brands to use virgin plastics and recycled plastics in their manufacturing. The pair even releases the world’s first performance shoe made using Biosteel fibre late last year in the adidas Futurecraft Biofabric.

For every energy-returning boost midsole silhouette made with Primeknit uppers, it’s said that 11 less plastic bottles will be seen in the world’s oceans. The adidas x Parley UltraBOOST Collection is set to release by the end of June with all three trainers costing £149.95. Head over to the adidas Website for more details.
