Caterham have taken the Seven to extreme with the launch of the 620R, which sees the introduction of a 2.0 litre supercharged Ford Duratec engine, kicking out 311bhp, a 0-60mph of 2.79 seconds and a top speed of 155mph. The 620R is designed to be the most hardcore production Seven ever to be built for the road.
The 620R is produced in the familiar visual mould of the standard Seven, but with a gunmetal chassis, colour scheme and go faster stripes of choice, 13 inch alloy wheels with race inspired tyres, carbon fibre race seats, wide track front suspension units and high performance dampers all round.
These impressive numbers don’t quite come with the usual accessible price tag associated with the Seven, with the 620R retailing at £49,995. But try finding that performance for that price anywhere else…
The new Caterham 620R launches at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 12-14 July, with orders being taken now.
