In the rumour mill for a little while now, Citroën have now officially released details of the new Citroën DS3 Cabrio Convertible. Available from early next year, the new DS3 Cabrio will début to the public at the Paris Motor Show in September.
The original DS3 has always been a tailored car, with weird and funky colour options a common place, the Cabriolet is no different and offers three different variations on soft top style: black, Infinite blue and a DS Monogrammed design, and 7 body colours to start. When it comes to the roof, it is fully electric, has three open positions, and once open can be closed all the way up to speeds of 75 mph, and takes a total of 16 seconds. Quite a nice little feature, no more pulling over in a lay-by to stop yourself getting wet!
In terms of other visuals, nothing strays too far from the original DS3, but at the back, a newly designed boot lid and 3D cluster are the eye catchers. The boot seems to use a circular motion for opening, which means that it can be opened even when parked close again a wall or object. In terms of the lights, well see for yourself, but we like the design and style alot, that 3D effect giving a little visual trickery!
So what do you think? It will be hard to match up to the original DS3, but with the cult following already in place, this could be the soft top of next summer!
