Cinema’s Most Iconic Cars Set to Go on Display in LA This Month
One of the world’s largest automotive museums, the Petersen Automotive Museum is set to host one of most eye-catching exhibitions of the year this month. Showcasing Hollywood’s greatest ever cars from sci-fi and fantasy movies, visitors will see the machines that have graced some of the most popular films of all time.
The ‘Hollywood Dream Machines: Vehicles of Science Fiction and Fantasy’ exhibition, to give it its full title, is set to open this weekend on Saturday at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. It will feature cars from the likes of the Back to the Future (1985) DeLorean, 1989’s Batmobile from Batman, and of course, Knight Rider (1982).
“Hollywood Dream Machines will be the biggest exhibit of our 25th anniversary,” said Petersen’s Executive Director Terry L Karges. “With more than 40 vehicles from the silver screen spread across the museum, the exhibit is an ode to the industry that Los Angeles was built upon.”
Classic films like Blade Runner (1982) and Jurassic Park (1993) will feature in the exhibition with the history and concepts explained. Other more recent films set to be featured include Black Panther (2018), The Hunger Games (2012), and Mad Max: Fury Road (2016).
The ‘Hollywood Dream Machines: Vehicles of Science Fiction and Fantasy’ exhibition opens this Saturday 4th May 2019 at the Petersen Automotive Museum on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Tickets cost $75, which equates to around £58. Take a look at some of the cars being showcased below and find out more over at the Petersen Museum Website.
