Jaguar C-X17 SUV Concept
Created and designed to introduce Jaguar’s new aluminium chassis, the Jaguar C-X17 is a small insight into what lies ahead for the historic car manufacturer.
The C-X17 will be Jaguar’s first foray into the sports crossover vehicle with the new modular architecture allowing future models to stretch the possibilities of design, with vehicles able to maintain structural strength yet remaining lightweight enough to embody sporting design with a sophistication and luxury synonymous with Jaguar.
The Jaguar C-X17 Concept shares some design DNA with the current breed of Jaguars with a front grill and headlamps similar to the XF, and rear lights and flowing tail-end lines reminiscent of the new F type (if executed in a slightly more substantial way).
The crossover looks set to share the V6 petrol engine from the F-type, pushing it to speeds up to 186mph, torque vectoring as seen in the All New Range Rover Sport for increased poise and performance, and some outstanding aesthetic features including a panoramic sculpted roof allowing the cabin to be flooded with light, making the most of the two tone leather interior.
With Jaguar looking forward to future releases, the C-X17 is the perfect insight into possibilities for the premium saloon which will be entering the market in 2015 and it will be interesting to see where it sits in comparison to its older sister, the Range Rover Evoque.
We’re intrigued to find out what’s coming!
