Ken Block: Gymkhana 5 San Francisco
hoonigan: noun, see hoon or hooning: a person who participates in any type of reckless driving including but not limited to drifting, drag racing, and burnouts.
Ken Block is not only a hoonigan but he coined the phrase, created the brand and has been taking YouTube by storm ever since. His Gymkhana videos have racked up over 110 million views and that’s not including the most recent, number 5. In this latest video we see Kenny from the Block ripping it up around the streets of San Francisco, drifting through moving trams and doing donuts around Block’s friend and fellow DC Shoes star; Travis Pastrana.
Block may be an internet icon to millions of wannabe hoonigans but he is also a very accomplished rally driver, X Games competitor and business man. He was one of the co-founders of DC Shoes back in 1993 and in 2005 took his passion for rallying to a professional level. Block has also competed at some level in skateboarding, snowboarding and motorcross. Quite a career and at 44 years old he doesn’t seem to be giving up just yet.
