Lamborghini have unveiled the open air version of their latest one-off creation and it’s enough to bring a tear to the eye – mainly through its beauty but also as we know we’ll never be able to have one. Fluid open air elegance meets engineering brilliance in the new Lamborghini Centenario Roadster.
In celebration of the centenary of their founder, Ferruccio, Lambo gave their designers freedom to create an open design for a special commemorative series of cars which illustrate the company’s elegance progressive qualities. The latest result is this truly gorgeous Centenario, a next level Roadster which features low overhangs in the front and rear creating a clean, sensuous, mono-body shape.
Donned in a special exterior Silver colour fashioned exclusively for the Centenario called ‘Argento Centenario’, designers applied a new high-tech process dissolving the metal while diluting and diminishing the appearance of the metal grain giving it a silky and rich exterior finish.
As well as looking magnificent, the Centenario also performs to a similar level. Built from carbon fibre, the highly responsive V12 engine delivers 770 hp (566 kW) with maximum engine revs increased from 8.350 to 8.600 rpm. Acceleration is also eye-watering with a 0-100 km/h of just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of more than 350 km/h.
Inside the car, things only continue to wow with luxurious Light Brown leather inlays, as well as channels located in the rear wall and the back of the headrest so the air can flow smoothly through the cabin without coursing any unnecessary turbulence. The rear wing then benefits from additional aero-load for increased rear downforce.
As beautiful as the Lamborghini Centenario Roadster is – and it really is – we’re sorry to tell you that it’s also limited to just 20 units. Not only that, all of those 20 have already been spoken for. Guess that means you’ve saved £1.7million ($2.25million) if nothing else! Head over to the Lamborghini Website for more details.
