To mark 65 illustrious years manufacturing arguably the best off road vehicles on the planet, Land Rover have aptly released a limited run of 65 Special Edition of LXV’s, of course with LXV being the Roman Numerals for 65.
The Land Rover Defender LXV Special Edition comes fully loaded with external and internal mods from the short wheelbase Defender 90 that it is based around, coming complete with orange accented logos, and a super slick ‘Corris’ Grey on ‘Santorini’ Black contrast paint job, 16 inch rugged ‘Sawtooth’ rims and a suitably patriotic Union Jack emblazoned on the rear. It’s traditional Land Rover with a touch of class.
Inside, the interior echoes the orange accents from outside, with contemporary orange stitching setting off the rich black leather interior. Under the hood, the LXV comes with a 2.2 litre diesel lump, and a 6 speed manual gearbox producing 120 bhp, with 0-62 in a slow and steady 15.8 secs, but let’s be honest – you don’t buy one of these for their drag racing abilities, you buy them to pull things and drive in the mud; and with 265 lb-ft of torque it shouldn’t let you down.
The Land Rover Defender LXV Special Edition starts at a quite reasonable £28,765 and with only 65 being made, if you want one you better move fast.
