Now BMW and Mini have been busy bee’s recently, not only have they already announced the BMW I8 Spyder Concept this week, and news of the MINI Yachtsman the week before, now they have unveiled a rather quirky (and possibly fake!) Mini Camping Range.

The Mini camping range range features a roofrack attached tent (like a trailer tent) and a very cool, Mini inspired and designed Caravan. Both the products come in the classic John Cooper Works colour scheme, and with a growing trend of holidaying on the road and at home via car. Could they be the next big thing?

Starting with the MINI Cowley Caravan, it features two sleeping berths, a twin burner stove, water tank, refridgerator, TV / DVD and stereo system. Power comes from the onboard battery (charged by solar power) and a 230 volt power connection. Twin doors are provided, both with sliding windows, and the width of the caravan is only a little wider than that of the MINI Clubman.

The only problem with the MINI Caravan, is it obviously needs a tow-bar. And if you have a John Cooper Works or other Sports model, they don’t fit! Fear not, as if you do, you can opt for the MINI Swindon Roof tent. The tent sleeps two people, and pops up to allow the bed and beddding to be left at all times. yes whilst close, it just looks like a super sleek roof box.

They are typical quirky mini designed. Truly useful and worhty of your cash? Probably not, truly cool and make you stand out? Definitely.

Oh, and we are unsure if this is legit or an April Fools, we hope it’s for real but I guess the number plates suggest otherwise…
