New Honda Civic Type-R

Honda are going to be bringing back the iconic Civic Type R following 3 years in hibernation. Since its UK launch in 2001, the Type-R has developed a cult following from petrolheads all over the country. The new model is due in 2015, and the details that Honda keep dropping help to paint the picture of what will eventually hit the marketplace.
Honda appear to be leaving behind their natural aspirated engine following problems with emissions, and the shift will be towards a 2.0 litre direct injection turbo capable of pushing out up to 300bhp. Given the available power, alongside active rear suspension and a mechanical limited slip differential Honda are looking for the new Type-R to be the fastest front wheel drive hot hatch on the market, and take it to the top of the front wheel drive lap times around the Nurburgring.
Retailing at around £25,000 the Type-R will face strong competition from the Golf GTI, Ford Focus ST, Vauxhall VXR, & the current fastest hot hatch the Renaultsport Megane 265 not to mention any vehicles currently being dreamt up.
Either way, it promises to be pretty quick..
