There’s a reason that when Joes want the best version of something they’ll refer to the ‘Rolls-Royce of…’ And true to the saying, the British icons have just announced the Rolls-Royce of picnic baskets with the hand-built, limited-edition Phantom Zenith Collection luxury hamper.
As Rolls-Royce starts to wind down production of the Phantom family of models in prep for a new eighth-generation car, the company have announced that each of the end-of-line Zenith Collection cars – limited to just 50 examples – will come with hand-built picnic hampers.
The hampers themselves are naturally no ordinary wicker baskets. Handcrafted from American Walnut wood and natural grain leather, each hamper will be finished in a choice of three colour combinations, which will match the interior of the cars themselves.
These include Ardent Red leather and Black leather piping, which have both been inspired by a 1929 Phantom II; a more contemporary combo of Navy Blue and Arctic White leather piping, reminiscent of the original 1925 Rolls-Royce Phantom II; or a Black Anthracite leather with Seashell piping, referencing the 1911 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.
The Phantom Zenith hamper features everything you’d need for a leisurely trip to the country and almost certainly a whole lot more with a fold-out piano black tabletop, crystal wine glasses, and unique crockery, each with painted black and platinum detailing around the edges.
The Phantom Zenith Collection hampers will be limited to just 50 units and will also feature the Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupé models that end production at the end of 2016. All units will be numbered to match each owner’s car.
