The new golf R20T is getting ready to launch at the Geneva Motor Show. The replacement for the previous flagship R32, VW are dropping the previous 3.2 V6 and replacing it with the light 2 litre turbo as found in the majority of GTI’s.
However, an even bigger turbo, and tweaks to the ECU, will take this baby up to around 270bhp – 20bhp more than the previous R32. Along with the weightloss this should see us hitting 60mph is just over 5 seconds, that’s a massive second quicker than the old R32, and not far off the M3.
Your looking at about £25K for the 3 door.
