Following the increasing trend for functional family cars which also offer power and performance comes the Volvo V60 Polestar. The model will be limited edition and is based on the most recent iteration of the V60 only tuned by motorsport specialists Polestar, and follows suit from past hot estates which have hit the UK market.
The V60 Polestar will punch out a pretty impressive 345bhp from its 3.0 litre, 6 cylinder twin turbo engine and this will take the sportswagon from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds and will zip up to a limited 155mph.
The differences don’t stop there, with Polestar having tweaked the suspension, gearbox and brakes. Aesthetically the vehicle features a branded interior from the motorsport outfit, and bodywork wise the V60 Polestar has the addition of a new front splitter, as well as a rear diffuser and spoiler all added after data was collected from wind tunnel testing making it much more aerodynamic than the Volvo’s of old.
The UK release will be limited to the V60 Polestar (we wont be getting the S60 Polestar here – but we’re not sure why) and its due to land on these shores next summer but the price is still on the hush -hush. With all that power with all that space we’ll be expecting Audi S4 Avant money at around £40,000.
