10 Cloverfield Lane Film Trailer
It was back in 2014 that it was announced that J.J. Abrams would producing a post-apocalyptic thriller called Valencia. While it seems like the nature of the film was true, it looks as though the Star Wars: The Force Awakens director has pulled another rabbit out of the hat by hitting us with the trailer for a sequel to Cloverfield entitled 10 Cloverfield Lane. Not only that – it’s due out in just two months!
So after a lot off waiting it look as though the long-talked-about sequel to the secretive 2008 film is not only happening, it’s already canned and ready to be shown!
The film stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr as they try to live their lives in a cellar sleeping, eating and doing puzzles. That is until tensions reach fever pitch and Winstead tries to escape. Interestingly, the track laying over the trailer is a cover of Tiffany’s ‘I Think We’re Alone Now.’ Ominous!
But what are they hiding from? And are they really alone? As usual with Abrams projects, details are sketchy but we like it that way. According to Abrams, the film is a ‘blood relative of Cloverfield’ – though how it actually connects to the original, we can only speculate. with Goodman screaming, “Don’t open that door!” and, “Something’s coming” we could have a guess!
‘Blood relative’ seems to imply to us that the film isn’t a direct sequel but may take place within the same universe as Cloverfield. There’s also some undeniable nods to Lost with a hatch, a bunker and some numbers…
10 Cloverfield Lane is directed by Dan Trachtenberg and you won’t have to wait long to see it with Paramount confirming the film will hit cinemas on the 10th March this year! Watch the awesome trailer below!
