Summer has officially arrived in the capital! Well, almost officially anyway with the annual influx of food and drink pop-ups ready to keep you refreshed and full during the warmer months. With that in mind, here are the very best summer food and drink pop-ups in London.

Skylight London

Themed around an urban lawn club, they can be few more quintessentially British pop-ups this summer than Skylight London. Combining the almightiest of garden parties with street food and cocktails on the rooftop of the Tobacco Dock, Skylight comes with a 600 capacity, multiple bars, food joints, three croquet lawns and two petanque courts, all set against some of the finest views in the city. Food is provided by the likes of East London burger maestros, We Serve Humans.

Jimmy Garcia’s BBQ Club

Location: Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, SE1 8XX.

London’s pop-up king, Jimmy Garcia is back. And this time he’s bringing his largest and most ambitious residency to date in the BBQ Club at London’s Southbank Centre. The split-level, riverside summer eatery offers a BBQ Bar menu downstairs, as well as an ever-evolving six course tasting menu upstairs set against the stunning backdrop of the Thames. Staying true to Jimmy’s acclaimed interactive, alfresco cooking style, both the walk-up BBQ Bar and BBQ Club rooftop dining menus will feature innovative BBQ dishes served straight from a Big Green Egg grill, with each dish telling a tale of provenance and sourcing.

Last Days of Shoreditch Riviera

Last Days of Shoreditch is back this summer with a Riviera on Old Street. Bringing together a sensational summer programme of beats, bars and beach life, Last Days of Shoreditch is a collaboration between culture veterans RED Gallery and Rob Star. Open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the pop-up features cocktails and craft beer bars alongside mouthwatering food stalls as well as a mezzanine restaurant and terrace bar from Ben Spalding and his Puzzle Project team. The Shoreditch Riviera also has its own urban beach overlooked by palm trees and decking, as well as karaoke room powered by Lucky Voice and private hire spaces if you’re planning a big summer blow-out.

Casa Havana at Skylounge

Bringing a taste of Cuba to London this summer, Havana Club Rum has remodelled the famed Skylounge rooftop bar terrace at the Hilton’s Double Tree venue into a Cuban retreat. The fourth-month pop-up residency will allow guests to immerse themselves within the relaxed Cuban vibe and feel as though they have travelled to Old Havana itself. Naturally cocktails will be the order of the day with a series of ‘Cuban Classic’ and ‘Future Classic’ cocktails imagined by Havana Club Rum’s Brand Ambassadors. As well as Cuban music, food is also sorted with traditional dishes on offer such as fried green plantains and Red Snapper ceviche with serrano chillies and a tomato jelly, followed by Pastelitos de Guayaba and Churros with Salted Caramel Sauce.

Belvedere Sunset Sessions at Sky Garden

Belvedere Vodka have teamed up with London’s famed park in the sky, Sky Garden, to launch a set of live music performances at the venue’s newly opened City Garden Bar this summer. The Belvedere Sunset Sessions will be a celebration of the UK’s grass roots talent with exclusive live performances from the hottest UK artists. Taking place at Sky Garden’s stunning new bar, the Belvedere Sunset Sessions will be running every Wednesday to Saturday until September from 6:30pm on weekdays and 9:30pm on Saturdays.

Pergola on the Roof

Location: Television Centre, Wood Lane, W12 7RJ.

After its glorious summer last year, Pergola on the Roof is back for 2017. And this time the rooftop food court on top of the BBC Television Centre car park is bringing with it a taste of Long Island living to Shepherd’s Bush. Dressed up to look like The Hamptons, the al fresco pergola features food offerings from the likes of 8 Hoxton Square, Salt ’n’ Sauce from Bonnie Gull, Breddos Tacos and burger kinds Patty & Bun. There’s two bars and 600 seats in total, making it the perfect haunt for a hot summers day. There’s also a second Pergola on the Roof venue this summer in Paddington.

Brixton Beach

Location: Popes Road, SW9 8JH.

For those Joes and Janes in dire need of beach, there’s no need to venture to the coast as Brixton Beach is back this summer. The Brixton Beach of 2017 is inspired by the vibrant culture of Cuba and offers up a colourful paradise through cocktails, street food and entertainment. Rum daiquiris, pina coladas, cubanitos and mojitos are the order of the day with the chance to also salsa the night away in the resident Clubhouse, inspired by famous nightclubs such as La Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio. The beach will host rotating foodie pop-ups throughout the summer as well as weekly film screenings, chef residencies and Ministry Does Fitness exercise classes.
