With the weather seemingly taking a turn for the better, chances are you’ve got all-day drinking on our mind. Now, while London can be a nightmare for finding a cheap pint, it is an absolute haven for drinking establishments with rooftop terrace views to die for. With that in mind, here’s what we think are London’s Best Rooftop Bars for Summer 2019!

Probably London’s most-loved rooftop, Frank’s Café is a summer-only pop-up bar which started all the way back in 2009. Now in its 11th year, Frank’s sits on top of Peckham’s multi-storey car park with hard-to-beat views across the London skyline. It’s set open on 30th May this year and will once again having a fully stocked bar, as well as a restaurant serving every day all summer long, including brunch service on the weekends.

The Queen of Hoxton represents all of the very best things about East London. Its rooftop is open all year around and is most known for its themed pop-up events which change every summer and winter. For summer 2019, the rooftop will be transformed into the secret den of the Luchadores (lady wrestlers) with ‘Las Mexicanas’! They’ll be taking inspiration from the lively fiestas and vividly coloured sun-drenched streets back-streets of San Christabel in Mexico. Think Mexican (arm) wrestling, tacos and all the giant frozen Margaritas you can polish off!

Themed around an urban lawn club, Skylight London above the Tobacco Dock returns again this summer for something quintessentially British. Combining a glorified garden party with street food and cocktails, Skylight comes with multiple bars, food joints, three croquet lawns and two petanque courts, all set against some of the finest views in the city. New for 2019, they’re introducing day beds and lush garden booths, so you can really soak up the summer rays.

It’s all fun and games at Stratford’s Roof East this summer. Featuring 6 action-packed gaming Lanes, players can curl, bowl or shuffle to victory. Alongside free games of Cornhole, Jenga, Table Tennis, Foosball or Table-top Curling, there’s also the chance to channel your inner Babe Ruth at London’s only batting cages, Sluggers or practice your putt at Birdies crazy golf. But that’s not all, there’s the House of Foos which offers a VR mix of traditional football and table foosball on steroids. Finally, there’s also carefully curated food stalls serving epic street food from all over the world.

If you’re looking for something upmarket, Shoreditch’s Boundary Rooftop Bar is perfect during the warmer months. The rooftop space includes a weatherproof pergola, which means the bar and dining areas remain open all year round. The garden design includes a canopy of grapes producing vines, plus a working kitchen garden to give the place a real Mediterranean vibe. They also serve up the likes of tapas and meats off the grill if you get hangry in the sunshine.

Found at the very top of Netil House, just a stone’s throw from Broadway Market in Hackney, Netil360 is an East London rooftop OG. The simple and relaxed rooftop bar in Hackney features a large terrace, where the view takes centre stage. The bar serves up crafted beers, wine and some classic cocktails, while you can also order a pizza.

Located just across the road from Somerset House, the Radio Rooftop bar is a staple on the London rooftop scene. Found on the 10th floor of ME London, this swanky haunt serves up modern cocktails and Spanish tapas if you need a bite to eat. While the architecture is striking enough, the real selling point is the view over the South Bank with Tower Bridge, the Shard, London Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tate Modern, Somerset House, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament all visible.

It’s only natural for Londoners to pine for some greenery every now and then, which is why the rooftop Garden at The Culpeper one our favourites in the capital. Not only is the roof terrace full of foliage for aesthetical purposes, the rooftop greenhouse also houses plants and veg used in the pub’s dishes. As well as a bar, the rooftop features a large dining table and a massive wood-fired grill, which means it’s perfect for some summertime eating and drinking.
