With the clocks changing this week, it’s officially time we talked Christmas. But rather than get down about the drop in temperatures, why not embrace the plethora of stellar pop-ups the capital throws up this time of year? With so much going on, it can be hard to keep up. So to help you along the way, here’s some of the best winter pop-ups in London for 2019!
The Emerald City, Queen of Hoxton
Location: 1 Curtain Road, EC2A 3JX.

Queen of Hoxton’s East London rooftop always puts on a show during the Christmas period, and winter 2019 will be no different as they take us down the yellow brick road to a city where everything has gone green. Feast on hearty Kansas style food before continuing along the golden path where you’ll find fire pits to toast marshmallows around, and walls glistening with Emerald jewels, as well as a hidden bar serving up hot and cold green cocktail delights. As usual there’ll be a series of immersive events through the long winter nights to keep you entertained. Open Now
Rooftop Ice Rink, Skylight London
Location: Pennington Street Car Park Entrance, E1W 2SF.

With the backdrop of The City skyline, Skylight London has long been one of the most picturesque rooftop venues in the capital, and this winter, Level 11 and 12 will once again be transformed into a winter-theme pop-up. Coming complete with an ice rink, this year it will also feature cosy huts and igloos on the mezzanine level with table service. You can also enjoy melted Raclette cheese, garlic fried potatoes, cornichons & Charcuterie throughout the winter nights, as well as festive cocktails, mulled wine and other delicious street food. SFG Club, Roof East
Location: 45a Broadway, E15 1XD.

Roof East will once again be open until Christmas week this winter with its Lanes offering revellers the chance to Curl, Bowl or Shuffle to victory. But that’s not the end of the fun and game with House of Foos, a VR mix of traditional football and table foosball; a retro arcade; and Birdies Crazy Golf. Naturally, there’ll also be a whole host of street food pop-ups with The Burger Project and ‘The Lodge’ hosted by London pop-up king Jimmy Garcia. Open Now
Ski-Lodge, The Montague on the Gardens
Location: 15 Montague Street, WC1B 5BJ.

Back for another year, The Montague on the Garden’s Ski Lodge is London’s original ski lodge and winter party venue and will be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with pine trees, falling snow, reindeer, snowmen, ski racks and piste maps. The centrally located bar will be serving up a range of winter warmers, including Schnapps and flavoured vodkas, while the Ski Lodge itself offers mulled wine, hot spiced cider and mugs of steaming hot chocolate. Alternatively head to the Log Cabin which boasts a decorative fire, Christmas tree and cosy armchairs and sofas complete with blankets. Open 29th October
Jimmy Winter Lodge, Southbank
Location: Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 8XX..

While you can find him at Roof East, Jimmy Garcia is also back for the cooler months with his Winter Lodge on the Southbank. As always, there are various parts to the pop-up with the set-menu Refuge Restaurant overlooking the Thames on the Southbank, as well as The Hot Cocktail Bar and Street Food for passers-by. There’s also the option of an evening of private dining at the Private Igloos. Available for the evening for groups of up to 10 people, these heated domes will offer a unique way to experience dining on the Southbank with stunning views of the river, and an equally stunning menu. Winterland Alpine Club, Fulham Beach Club

For the second winter running, Fulham’s first ever Thameside beach will be transformed into a ski resort. Taking inspiration from the Alpine slopes of the 80s and 90s, Winterland will transport guests back in time to a festive winter playground with a karaoke booth, curling lanes, beer/prosecco pong and table tennis. Street food traders will be serving mouth-watering flameless fondue, sourdough pizzas, gourmet burgers and mac’n’cheese, whilst mulled wine and winter warmer cocktails are served from the Moose bar. The best bit? This year there’ll be Nordic woodland hot tubs to rent too… Open 6th November
Rekorderlig Cider Lodge, Southbank

A staple of London’s winter pop-up scene, Rekorderlig’s effortlessly stylish Cider Lodge returns to the Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival in November for seasonal fun and festivities. Joes and Janes can immerse themselves in Scandinavian style, culture, food and drink. Inside you can enjoy winter drinks and a cider or two, while outside you’ll get the chance to sample some delicious Scandinavian street food. Open 1st November
