Pieminister, Bristol

Pieminister has rapidly become one Britain’s most popular and widely available pie makers. But while you can find their inventions in pubs, cafes and even supermarkets up and down the land, their original restaurant in Bristol is still going strong. With a commitment to unique and wonderful flavours and ingredients, Pieminister in Stokes Croft, Bristol, has gained a reputation as one of the best pie shop in the country, and for good reason!

Pie Shops UK London Arment's

Arments Pie and Mash, London

Arments is one of London’s pie and mash institutions. First established in 1914, the year of the Great War, this no frills eatery is perfect if you want authentic capital city pie, mash and liquor. This family owned business is now in its third generation and is so popular, it’s even had a building named after the shop – Arments Court on the Aylesbury Estate in Walworth. You can also get brave a try some proper jellied eels here too!

Pie Shops UK Norwich Glaming Galah

Flaming Galah, Norwich

If you need a quick bite to eat in Norwich city centre, either at lunch or before a session at the pub, we make Flaming Galah Aussie Pie Shop the best place to head in the Fine City. They serve an array of hot homemade pies ranging from your standard Beef and Stout to the more exotic Penang Curry pie (the owner’s wife is Thai). Flaming Galah gives every Joe the option of creamy mash, sweet mushy peas and deeply rich gravy to accompany you package of heaven. The setting is standard enough as it’s in a former chippy, but we’ve eaten pies up and down the country and we honestly believe this is one of the best pie shops around.

Pie Shops UK Cardiff Clark's Pies

Clark’s Pies, Cardiff

Clark’s Pies were first made in Cardiff in 1913 by founder Janet Maud (Mary) Clark and they’ve been going strong ever since. Doing things the traditional way, the recipe for Clark’s oval pies have remained mostly unchanged throughout the years with the trademark ‘CLARPIE’ stamped onto the base of every package of joy. Our tip would be go for the Clark’s Original Large Pie, a minced beef pie with potatoes and a gravy base encased within a short crust pastry sent from the pearly gates.

Location: 23 Bromsgrove St. CF11 7EZ.

Pie Shops UK Reading Sweeney & Todd

Sweeney & Todd, Reading

Sweeney and Todd is a long established restaurant in the heart of Reading city centre. While this restaurant isn’t solely about its pies, you’d be silly not to try one of Sweeney and Todd’s award winning offerings. Coming in a wide range of flavours, from classic steak pies to more inventive chicken, chilli and chorizo, Sweeney and Todd have been serving the locals for over 30 years.

Location: 10 Castle St. RG1 7RD.

Pie Shops UK London Goddards

Goddards at Greenwich, London

Established in 1890, Goddard’s of Greenwich is one of London’s most loved haunts. The family run pie and mash shop sadly closed back in 2006 but thankfully returned a couple of years ago when the family found a new building they deemed suitable for their creations. If you need a cheap dinner, this place is perfect as everything is under a fiver but that does mean it can get pretty packed. As well as their famous pie, mash and liquor, we’d whole heartedly recommend one of their apple pies for £2.50!

Location: 22 King William Walk. SE10 9HU.
