Charlie Hunnam Goes Exploring In The Lost City of Z Film Trailer
Sons of Anarchy fans might well have been disappointed with Charlie Hunnam’s film choices since leaving the show. But Jax Teller looks to have found himself a corker of a role in The Lost City of Z. Hunnam plays an explorer searching for a lost city in the Amazon, and the first trailer has just landed.
Based on author David Grann’s bestseller novel, The Lost City of Z tells the incredible true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett (Hunnam), who journeys into the Amazon at the dawn of the 20th century and discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilization that may have once inhabited the region.
Despite being ridiculed by the scientific establishment who regard indigenous populations as ‘savages’, the determined Fawcett keeps heading back to the jungle to prove his case, culminating in his mysterious disappearance in 1925.
The film had its world premiere at the closing night film of the New York Film Festival back in October and early reviews have been extremely positive. If the trailer is anything to go by, we can see why. The Lost City of Z looks to be somewhat of a throwback to classic cinema, with inspiration and tension provided in bucket loads.
As well as appearing to be a great role for Hunnam, the supporting cast is suitably stacked with Sienna Miller playing Fawcett’s long-suffering wife, Spider Man himself Tom Holland playing his son, and his aide de camp played by Robert ‘R-Patz’ Pattinson.
Directed by James Gray, The Lost City of Z will be hitting UK cinemas on 24th March. Check out the full trailer below.
