HEY YOUUUU GUYS!!! I hope you have all seen this classic film before, if not where have you been?!

The Goonies
Release Date – June 7th 1985
Gross Revenue – $61,389,680

The film that effectively started Sean Astin and Josh Brolin’s careers & one of Richard Donner’s best in the directors chair. The Goonies is a feel good film about a bunch of kids who embark on a quest to find the treasure of the famed pirate ‘One Eyed Willie’ (No laughing!). The hope, the treasure they find will save their neighbourhood from being demolished to build a new golf course. Mikey (Astin) and Brandon (Brolin) are joined by their friends Lawrence “Chunk” Cohen, Clark “Mouth” Devereaux, Andrea “Andy” Carmichael, Stefanie “Stef” Steinbrenner, and Richard “Data” Wang on their adventure, calling themselves the Goonies, the embark on their adventure whilst being pursued by the infamous Fratelli family (Like the band yes).

With Data trying out all his gadgets that never quite go to plan (imagine Inspector Gadget!), from the Chunk Bashing ‘Truffle Shuffle’, to the arrival of the Fratellis shunned disfigured son Sloth. This is a film that includes all that a kid would encounter on an ‘imaginary’ adventure that is quite real. It is very easy to see the Spielberg influence within the film, and the kids and cast bring the film to life.

As we all know. Goonies never say die and even now there are still talks about a sequel which shows just how much of a cult following this film has. However in my opinion they must leave well alone and keep this as a one off. Grab a copy on DVD or Blu-Ray and do the Truffle Shuffle! Pure comedy gold!!
