Having done their bit during the general election last year, the good folk at Scottish brewery Drygate Brewing Co are now looking to combat those isolation blues and keep the summer festival spirit alive with the launch of Rockdown, a free weekend-long digital gathering of live music, DJs, comedy sketches and more, being streamed directly into living rooms across the UK.
Launching on 25/26 April 2020, Rockdown is Drygate’s first-ever virtual festival and will showcase some of the best creative talent in Scotland. So far acts such as Aberdonian rockers Cold Years, singer-songwriter Michael Cassidy and folk singer John Rush, have all signed up to play, with the full line-up set to be released in the coming weeks.
All acts across the weekend will be streamed live online, so people can tune in from the comfort of their own homes during the UK’s lockdown. Those tuning in are also encouraged to don their wellies and set up camp in their living rooms to bring the festival vibe to their front room.
Naturally, festival beer packs will be available through Drygate’s online store and will be delivered straight to the door in time for the weekend. The packs will contain an assortment of Drygate’s signature line-up, such as their Core Range offerings and exclusive limited Small Batch brews, along with branded merch for that authentic festival feeling.
Drygate Brewing Co will put all the live-stream links of the acts performing at Rockdown on their website and social media channels. If you’re an act who’d like to get involved with the festival, download an information pack here, with Drygate encouraging audiences to donate to their favourite acts in this turbulent times for performers.
