Fargo Season 2 TV Trailer
FX have finally given us a full two and a half-minute trailer for Season 2 of the TV series of Fargo, a 70s-set tale of jet black humour and we’re assuming cold blooded murder.
The trailer gives a really good look at the new season and what we can expect. First thing you should know is no characters from the first season will be involved – a whole new cast with a whole new plot.
The new season is set in 1979 and will be set in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota. So we can again expect plenty of, “Ah, jeeze!” The plot will follow a young State Police Officer, Lou Solverson (played by Patrick Wilson), who has recently returned from duty in Vietnam. He sets out to investigate a case involving a local crime gang and a major Mob syndicate. Helping him piece things together is his father-in-law, Sheriff Hank Larsson (Ted Danson).
Three-time Emmy winner Brad Garrett will play Joe Bulo, the front man for the northern expansion of a the crime syndicate and from the trailer it looks as though the initial murder that kicks things off takes place in a waffle-house to a suitably underwhelming response from law enforcements… how very Fargo!
The trailer gives us a full sense of Fargo humour, which is complimented by some cracking 70s tunes and a beautifully bleak backdrop. There’s also noises coming out of from the makers that the new season will explore early issues of feminism, which is no surprise given Season 1’s dabbling with them.
Set for release this September, the Fargo Season 2 cast includes Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons, Kirsten Dunst, How I Met Your Mother star Cristin Milioti and Ted Danson, as well as numerous others you’ll recognise from US shows. We can’t wait! Check out the trailer below…
