Fortitude Season 2 TV Trailer
Given its budget, stacked cast and the monumental advertising it received (including a polar bear travelling on the London Underground), we couldn’t help but be a little disappointed by the first season of Fortitude. But we’ve still got high hopes for season two, especially following the first teaser trailer which has just dropped on Sky Atlantic’s YouTube channel.
Season 2 of Fortitude looks as though it’ll carry on from roughly where the first season finished – in quite an odd parasitic place if you recall. The first promo hints at more of the same with cover-ups and conspiracies, as well murder and a whole load of ice-cold angst. As somebody in the trailer suggests, “Bad things come at night. You’ll need to be ready.”
Set in a fictional Norwegian settlement in the Arctic, Season 1 of Fortitude looked to capitalise on the unexpected success of Nordic Noir TV shows such as The Killing and The Bridge. And while it succeeded in pitching the perfect tone and setting for some eerie happenings, the plot was just too convoluted.
But we’ve got high hopes Sky Atlantic have learned from mistakes! Season 2 will see new members join the cast headlined by The Day After Tomorrow’s Dennis Quaid, alongside Sophia Gråbøl, Richard Dormer, Luke Treadaway and Sienna Guillory who will return from Season 1.
The first series of Fortitude is still Sky Atlantic’s biggest drama commission to date, with the premiere episode having been watched more than 3.2 million times so far. It was also bought by over 170 countries.
Fortitude Season 2 arrives on Sky Atlantic in early 2017, with other new cast members including Parminder Nagra (ER), Ken Stott (The Missing), Robert Sheehan (Misfits), and Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark from Game of Thrones). Check out the trailer below.
