HBO Is Hiding Six Iron Thrones Around the World
As we all wait less-than-patiently for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones to hit our screens next month, HBO has decided to ramp up the anticipation by hiding six life-sized Iron Thrones all across the world for fans to find.
Yes, in a video posted to HBO’s official YouTube channel, the first Iron Throne can be seen hidden in what appears to be a forest with the caption ‘#ThroneoftheForest.’ The 360-degree video was originally accompanied by a countdown timer, allowing fans to see how much time they had left to claim it.
The Throne of the Forest was claimed today if Sky Atlantic’s Twitter feed is anything to go by. The mystery setting turned out to be an ancient wooded site in Gloucestershire, England.
Wherever it was, the second thrones #ThroneoftheNorth has since gone live on Youtube and appears to be located in an icy tundra – leading fans of the show to rumour it might be located somewhere in Iceland, namely Vík on the south coast (another filming location).
HBO will be hiding another Iron Thrones somewhere in the world as soon as the North Throne has been found, or by tomorrow at 4am. There’s six in total and you can keep an eye on things over at the #ForTheThrone Website.
