Inspired by the animals that roam and eat the alcoholic fermented fruit in Swedish forests, the UK will see two premium offerings hailing from Scandinavia this summer in the form of Elk Warning and Wolf Warning. We’ve sampled both cider and beer ranges, and can confirm the brews are perfect for drinking under the summer sun!
Brewed and overseen by the master brewer in the Swedish town of Sofiero, Elk Warning and Wolf Warning are the latest drinks to arrive from Sweden’s growing craft scene. Brewed and fermented using only the finest Swedish ingredients, Wolf Warning is a refreshing premium craft beer range, while the Elk Warning cider range comes in in two fruity flavour variations.
Given its central location, the Wolf Warning brewery in Laholm, Sweden is surrounded by some of the finest malt and hops producers in Europe, meaning only the finest quality beer is produced. Brewed only in small batches, WolfWarning is available in three premium beer offerings – ‘Double Brew’ Lager (5.3% ABV), Swedish Lager (6% ABV) and India Pale Ale (5.5% ABV).
Our favourite in the range is the perfectly crisp India Pale Ale. Traditionally brewed like the first IPA over 100 years ago, the brew is dry-hopped after fermentation to offer a delicate hop aroma, with notes of honey and light tones of grass and citrus.
As the quality of apples varies greatly depending on the amount of sunshine, Elk Warning cider is made using carefully selected apples from across the region. Coming in at a light and refreshing 4% ABV, the crafted apple cider is available in wild strawberries or blackberries.
The Elk Warning and Wolf Warning cider and beer ranges will be priced at £1.89 per 330ml can and will be available at Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Co-Op by the time summer is in full swing. Head over to the Crafted Warning Website for more details.
