Following a sell-out summer last year and a winter residency with the Lodge, pop-up king Jimmy Garcia is back for summer 2018 with his famed BBQ Club! Complete with a new menu, the pop-up event will also be joined by a take-away BBQ hatch and downstairs bar which will once again be serving up a range of speedy BBQ snacks and delicious gin alongside the Thames at the Southbank.
Yes, Jimmy Garcia’s BBQ Club will return to London’s Southbank Centre on Saturday 5th May with the split-level, riverside eatery featuring a walk-up BBQ Bar showcasing dishes straight from the grill, as well as the BBQ Club rooftop restaurant.
Both the walk-up BBQ Bar and BBQ Club rooftop dining menus will be offering creative and delicious BBQ dishes, served straight from a Big Green Egg grill. The upstairs BBQ Club interactive six course tasting menu (£45) will include dishes such as Char Ma Lass with miso-glazed charred baby aubergines and pickled green chili, and Hard Core Prawn with fresh langoustines and roast red pepper puree.
The walk-up BBQ Bar will be serving quicker fare if you’re in a hurry such as Hot Smoked salmon with grain salad and crème fraiche, and monkfish burger with tarragon mayonnaise and dill pickled cucumber. All dishes at the BBQ Bar are priced at £10 or under.
Upstairs in the rooftop restaurant, there’ll also be a private bar where guests can enjoy refreshing gin concoctions, chilled beer, or bottles of wine. Downstairs there will be a separate bar situated by the Thames, serving a selection of G&Ts, beers and ciders, so you can still enjoy watching the light fade over the London skyline with a drink in hand.
