Daniel Craig Stars in First Trailer for Murder Mystery ‘Knives Out’

While you might expect any Daniel Craig news to be accompanied by the word ‘Bond 25’, believe it or not he is known for more than just 007. And his latest non-Bond project sees him teaming up with Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson for a modern take on a classic whodunit? In Knives Out.

Written and directed by Rian Johnson, murder-mystery Knives Out sees Daniel Craig join an all-star cast as the suave southern detective Benoit Blanc. He’s tasked with solving the murder of acclaimed crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (played Christopher Plummer) after his 85th birthday and everyone is a suspect.

Craig is joined by a truly stellar cast which also includes Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martell. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc must sift through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind the untimely death.

Judging from the trailer Knives Out will be a fun, modern-day murder mystery which pays homage to Agatha Christie’s classics; “The idea was to take everything I love about a great Agatha Christie story and put it into a new original story set in modern-day America,” Johnson told Entertainment Weekly.
