London Bar to be Transformed into a Booze-Filled ‘Supermarket Sweep’
In the immortal words of the late, great Dale Winton, “the next time you’re at the checkout and you hear the beep, think of the fun you could be having on Supermarket Sweep!” And we have. Regularly. So imagine our excitement when we heard that the Shoreditch London Cocktail Club is set to transform into a version of the cult game show!
Yes, to celebrate the launch of LCC founder JJ Goodman’s new step-by-step cocktail book, Kitchen Cocktails, the Shoreditch bar will be giving London’s cocktail connoisseurs the opportunity to test their shopping prowess and swap expensive ingredients in their pop-up miniature supermarket.
The new book is all about creating cocktails from cupboard staples, so the pop-up will showcase innovative cocktails using day-to-day ingredients like Angel Delight and Coco Pops. Teams will be given jumpers in primary colours on arrival before selecting a cocktail of their choice from ‘Kitchen Cocktails’.
The teams of six or more will then race around the supermarket aisles gathering up items to be used to make said cocktail before bar staff guide them through the cocktail creations. As we’re sure you’re aware by now, bonus prizes will also be available if you grab the winning inflatables.
Each London Cocktail Club ‘Supermarket Sweep’ session in Shoreditch will last around an hour and will include three cocktails. Tickets are priced at £30 and are available for 1st December 2018 – 23rd February 2019 from Design My Night.
