Lynx Black Space
On what was almost definitely the hottest day in the history of the earth, we gallantly braved the weather and hit the streets of Shoreditch to check out the Lynx Black Space in trendy East London.
First and foremost describing the Lynx Black Space is no easy task. It’s a shop, a lounge, an event space and probably where it’s most successful, a space for established London barbers, Jack the Clipper!
Located on Dray Walk, just a stone throw from the Old Truman Brewery, the Black Space is a great place to relax during the summer months. You’ll find Wi-Fi, iPads and headphones from Sennheiser, so whether you’re meeting for a working lunch or grabbing a quick coffee, the Black Space provides plenty of lounging sofa space in one of the trendiest parts of London. Plus a large amount of the drinks and snacks are sourced locally from Shoreditch.
The Black Space calendar is filled with unique and exclusive entertainment, including an array of pop-up cinema events, guest speakers as well as gigs from major stars such as Tinie Tempah!
But where the Lynx Black Space really comes into its own is the space it provides for the modern London gentleman’s barber of choice, Jack the Clipper.
Established in 1996, by London’s first and biggest family of Turkish Master Barbers, Jack The Clipper kindly trimmed our mop and beard to such a quality, we can honestly say it’s one of the best hairdressing experiences we’ve ever had.
There are a few Jack the Clipper haunts dotted all over the City with a wash, cut and style costing you an extremely reasonable £24, while the best beard trim you’ll ever wish to have costs £15, and they’ll throw in the hot towel for free too!
You’ll find the Lynx Black Space on Dray Walk in Shoreditch open between 11am-7pm every day baring Sunday where they close at 6pm. As it’s a pop-up, it’s only open until the 2nd August so keep an eye on the Lynx Black Space Website to see upcoming events and check out the Jack the Clipper Website to see where your next haircut is coming from!
