Michael Bay’s LA Villa
While many of us quite rightly may question his tastes and preferences when it comes to making films, it’s hard to question Michael Bay’s taste in architecture after seeing pictures from his Los Angeles Villa. Be prepared to hate him even more…
Michael Bay’s 30,000 sq. ft. LA Villa is located in the hillside of Tinseltown, giving spectacular views of both downtown Los Angeles and the Santa Monica mountain range in the distance.
The villa was designed by Miami-based design house Oppenheim Architecture, an award winning architecture, planning, and interior design firm who specialise in hospitality, retail and residential buildings for the rich and famous worldwide. With a focus on ‘physical and spiritual contextual sensitivity’, their buildings claim to offer clients timeless architecture that is as beautiful as it is functional.
We reckon they’ve certainly achieved this in Michael Bay’s Villa with a property that makes use of its idyllic location by immersing the majority of the home into the hillside. The centre-pieces of the multiple-roomed abode include the two master bedroom ‘modules’, which hover above the property offering incredible views of the city below.
As well as views from the bedrooms, there’s also incredible panoramics provided by the swimming pool which dramatically establishes the cliff’s edge, even extending beyond it at one end.
There are also several bedrooms downstairs with a few living areas, a kitchen, as well as hidden features like a spa, parking for all of Bay’s supercars, and obviously a sizable cinema. There’s even room for a prop museum!
