NASA Space Travel Posters
While NASA may have just announced a $19 billion budget request designed to fund a manned mission to Mars, we’re more excited by these awesome travel posters they’ve just released advertising the most exciting sights in the universe, entitled ‘Vision of the Future’.
The artists who designed these space travel posters are the same ones who were behind the Exoplanet Travel Bureau poster series which was published last year. It was so successful, NASA decided to release a more extensive run of posters.
Designed within the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the posters depict planets and moons in our Solar System that we’ll hopefully one day visit. Along with Earth, there’s posters designed for planets in our system such as Jupiter, where you can experience ‘mighty auroras’, and Venus, which is referred to as the ‘Cloud 9 observatory’.
Other alien worlds portrayed are moons and planets you might know a little less about. Such as, Ceres ‘queen of the asteroid belt’, the largest object in the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter; Titan, the largest moon of Saturn and often cited as humans’ next home; and Enceladus, another one of Saturn’s icy moons.
The posters show humans exploring these distant landscapes with seemingly everyday nonchalant-ness. In reality, conditions on these worlds mean that human exploration is virtually impossible as it stands, but NASA is clearly keen on giving off the aura of discovery and we love them for it!
There are 14 posters in all to the NASA Visions of the Future collection and you can see all of the designs, as well as download them, on the NASA Website. You can also take a good look at the previous Exoplanet series, which is brilliant in its own right!
