Sliders Curling Club Bar
London’s ability to fuse seemingly niche sports with nightlife is showing no signs of letting up. We’ve had darts, golf and table tennis, but now it’s the turn of the illustrious game of curling to take centre stage with the announcement of Sliders Curling Club, a bar/set of curling sheets due to open in East London later this year.
Yes, the Slider Curling Club will be popping up on a rooftop in Stratford this November, with bowling’s weird winter cousin the focus of festivities. The space will feature four neon lit, freshly marked curling lanes, alongside a line-up of DJs and themed cocktails. As well as having drinks served to you at your lane, there’ll also be an array of street food to keep you suitably refreshed.
The curling will take place outdoors but if you’re worried about the cold, fear not as there’s a bespoke built Curling Lane Lodge where you can warm up with a hot toddies and heaters. And if curling isn’t your cup of tea, you can just head into The Roof East winter bar, which is undercover and heated, and has space for 200 merry-makers and offers 360-degree views of East London.
And if that wasn’t enough, Sliders Curling Club also has room for karaoke. Brought to you in partnership with Lucky Voice, all booths come with themed karaoke, drinks service, and a welcome cocktail served warm in a Thermos to warm-up the vocal cords.
Sliders Curling Club opens on 3rd November at Roof East in Stratford. Lanes will set you back from £10 per person for 40mins (including an intro to the sport), with karaoke booths similarly costing £10 per person (with up to 10 people) per hour.
