Things to Do This Weekend in London

The London Whisky Weekender 2019

Friday 10th – Sunday 12th May 2019. From £20.

Whether you’re a whisky connoisseur or just whisky curious, the London Whisky Weekender is always one of the premier malt events in the capital. Now in its 11th year, the festival kicks off this Friday at the Kia Oval and offers Joes and Janes the chance to sample over 100 whiskies from around the world.

The tasting event see some of the best whiskies from the UK congregate on South London and even attracts distillers as far afield as Australia and Taiwan. Your ticket includes a take-home tasting glass, the Festival Guide, and all whiskies sampled in main hall. There are also some special ‘under the counter’ drams available.

We Love Cheese

Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th May 2019. Free.

We Love Cheese is back this weekend and it’s going to be bigger than ever. Taking place at the iconic Battersea Power Station, this 2 day fromage-filled event will be a celebration of both local and global cheeses, with samples and flavoursome cheeseboards accompanying drinks pairings.

Melted cheese, hard cheese, soft cheese… everything will be covered, with cheese traders such as Capo Caccia, Une Normande à Londres, Alsop and Walker, L’Ubriaco Drunk Cheese and Bath Soft Cheese entering their best cheeses for the coveted We Love Cheese Cup.

Things to Do This Weekend in Norwich

Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2019

Friday 10th – Sunday 26th May 2019. Prices vary.

The East of England’s largest arts festival, the Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2019, returns this Friday for 17 days of music, theatre, literature, visual arts, circus, dance and free outdoor events. The Festival transforms public spaces, city streets, parks, forests and beaches in Norwich and beyond into various performance venues with every age and taste taken care of.

2019’s Festival opens in spectacular style this Friday when Circus artist Chris Bullzini will go on a 230-metre-long tightrope walk from Jarrold, across Norwich Market, to the top of The Forum. The much loved Adnams Spiegeltent will also once again pop up in Chapelfield Gardens on Wednesday, so there’ll be plenty of chances for a garden party!

Things to Do This Weekend in Bristol

Foodies Festival 2019

Friday 10th – Sunday 12th May 2019. Adults from £19.

The UK’s biggest food festival, Foodies Festival, returns to Bristol and its Durdham Downs this Friday for a mouth-watering weekend festival filled with masterclasses, demonstrations, artisan producer’s markets, and over 30 delicious street food stalls in the Street Food Avenue.

Highlights at this year’s Foodie Festival include an appearance from MasterChef Winner Ping Coombes, who’ll be cooking live in the Chefs Theatre, as well as a Hot Wing Competition. Once again this year, there’ll also be a music stage, where the likes of Scouting For Girls and Queen tribute band Flash will be performing across the weekend.

Things to Do This Weekend in Leeds

Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival

Sunday 12th May 2019. £5.

Voted as the country’s favourite vegan festival, the Great Yorkshire Vegan Festival is one of the largest meat- and dairy-free festivals anywhere with 100 fantastic stalls taking over Leeds Town Hall. Expect world food caterers, cookery demos, talks, interactive workshops, live music, children’s activities, and most importantly, free samples!

The likes of VDogs will be serving their delicious vegan hotdogs, while Nutcrafter Creamery will be offering up their artisan vegan cheese. There’ll also be vegan skincare and clothing brands showcasing their creations and 100% of ticket profits goes to animal welfare charities as the festival is fully volunteer run.
