BFI and Radio Times Television Festival

BFI and Radio Times Television Festival returns to the Southbank this weekend with a three days showcase of the very best British television has to offer. Over 30 events and screenings will be taking place at the BFI, with some of the biggest stars and creators in British TV discussing their shows, as well as exclusive previews of tomorrow’s hits.

Highlights this year’s festival include talks from ‘Bodyguard’ creator Jed Mecurio, who’ll be also be joined by cast members from the latest series of ‘Line of Duty’. ‘Inside No 9’’s Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton will also be doing a Q&A, while Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones will be discussing Black Mirror and the future of technology in TV following the success of ‘Bandersnatch’.

Hot Sauce Society Festival

London is getting its very first Hot Sauce Festival this weekend courtesy of the aptly named Hot Sauce Society! The all-day event is taking place this Saturday at Peckham’s Copeland Park and will be dedicated entirely to the iconic condiment with over 30 independent hot sauce makers from around the UK and abroad offering up their creations.

Headline sponsor, Frank’s RedHot sauce will be offering bottles of sauce to all at their all-American games area, while craft beers and cocktails will be served all day to stop your mouth from setting on fire. There’ll also be some non-food stalls, selling gifts and homewares, from Mexican folk art to pottery and plants.

Things to Do This Weekend in Leeds

Leeds Gin Fair

Saturday 13th April 2019. £15.

Leeds Corn Exchange is hosting a Gin Fair this Saturday with some of the city’s finest bartenders teaming up with some stellar gin brands for some unique creations. Brought to you from the team behind Leeds Rum Festival, the best bit is all gin is free to sample as part of your ticket!

As well as industry experts and a bottle shop, there’ll also be a host of masterclasses alongside talks on the history of Gin and cocktail demos. To keep to on the straight and narrow, there’ll also be some local street food stalls and DJs throughout the day.

Things to Do This Weekend in Manchester

Mundial & Classic Football Shirts Umbro ‘95’ Exhibition

Until Sunday 14th April 2019. Free.

Retro football magazine Mundial have teamed up with Classic Football Shirts this week to present ‘95’, an exhibition celebrating the influence of Umbro in football on the brand’s 95th anniversary. Showcasing iconic items from the Double Diamond’s extensive back catalogue, the exhibition will tell the story of the brand from the early days, through to outfitting five World Cup-winning sides.

Naturally, there’ll be loads of rare archive jerseys and jackets on show, alongside the stories behind some of your favourite shirts, old brochures and adverts, and some genuine limited edition merchandise on the go. You may also be able to purchase a retro classic or two if you play your cards right.

Things to Do This Weekend in Bristol

Lost & Grounded Spring Happening

Saturday 13th April 2019. Free.

It might not feel it quite yet but we are now well into spring. And to celebrate the season, Bristol brewery Lost & Grounded are kicking off the warmer seasons with a ‘Spring Happening’ alongside their special guests brewers Lervig Aktiebryggeri.

The Norwegian natives are returning after a similar event with Lost & Grounded last spring and this year will offer up much of the same with the very latest beers from both brewers sitting alongside DJs and food from our Bristol’s very favourite burger wizards, Asado.
