Rekorderlig Mixed Reality Bar

As part of the Underbelly Festival at the Southbank, this summer Rekorderlig are bringing the Swedish tradition of Midsummer to London with a modern twist. Their Rekorder-Land mixed reality bar will provide Londoners with a multi-sensory experience that will blur the line between the real and virtual worlds.

Yes, visitors can step through a portal to enter a hyper-real world where ‘fruits and flavours come to life and the sun hangs high in the sky.’ The multi-sensory experience uses the latest Magic Leap headset technology to project holographic imagery and light waves together in the wearer’s vision. There may also be some fruit cider on offer too!

Amstel: The Open Arms Pub Pop-Up

Friday 14th June 2019. Free.

Next week (17th – 23rd June) marks something called Neighbours’ Week; a campaign which encourages neighbours across the country to open their arms and come together at the heart of the community – the local pub. So to celebrate the boozy occasion, Amstel has created a first-of-its-kind pub, The Open Arms.

Using everyday garden fences – the barriers that usually keeps neighbours apart – Amstel is inviting Londoners to come down for one day only and visit a the one-off pub to enjoy a pint. Taking place on Friday, The Open Arms will be open for anyone in the city to come together and enjoy a complimentary bier on the banks of the River Thames.

Things to Do This Weekend in Bristol

Love Food Festival

Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th June 2019. Free.

Part of Bristol Food Connections 2019, the Love Food Festival heads to Colston Hall this weekend to showcase some the region’s most amazing produce. Expect an extensive line up of farmers, growers, bakers, makers, curers, brewers, fermenters and more.

All five floors of Colston Hall’s foyer will be transformed into a celebration of food, with everything from demos with some of the top chefs in the business, to stimulating conversations, a buzzing market and pop-up supper clubs to challenge the mind and tantalise the taste buds.

Things to Do This Weekend in Cardiff

Cricket World Cup 2019: South Africa v Afghanistan

Sunday 15th June 2019. From £20 (adults).

If you’ve been following the ICC Cricket World Cup and want to catch a game before it’s too late, this weekend is your last chance in Cardiff when South Africa take on Afghanistan in what will be the first-ever World Cup meeting between the two teams.

The rain may have already called off a few games this week but the forecast is good for Sunday’s game and it’s the last of four games to be played at the Cardiff Wales Stadium. Tickets can be picked up for just £20 for Adults and you’ll get the chance to see some of the best cricketers in the world, including Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock.

Things to Do This Weekend in Norwich

Proudly Norfolk Food & Drink Festival

Sunday 16th June 2019. Free.

If you’re looking for a great way to celebrate Father’s Day in Norwich this Sunday, the Proudly Norfolk Food & Drink Festival will be taking place in and around the Forum. Alongside a selection of Street Food vendors, there’ll also be a host of producers bring along their produce with everything from bakes to wines.

Local chefs will be hosting some demonstrations and local brew kings Adnams will also be on bar duty, serving everything from ales to gin. There’ll also be live entertainment throughout the day and a Family Food Trail through the award-winning Norwich Market.
