Things to Do This Weekend in Manchester

Sadler’s Yard Stock Exchange

Saturday 25th May 2019. Free.

Something truly unique is taking place in Manchester’s Sadler’s Yard this Saturday with an experimental Stock Exchange. The concept is simple; there’ll be a host of stalls selling everything from crafts to street food. The only difference is that money is irrelevant. Instead, Sadler’s Yard are using a cashless barter system with visitors asked to bring items to trade with.

Yes, attendees are encouraged to come with handheld, trade-able objects, spanning pieces of art, books, food, drink and raw materials, with the value of your item dictated by your haggling skills. So in theory, you can trade an old saw for a pizza. Trading commences at 12pm and will continue until all goods are swapped! There’ll also be DJ sets, outdoor seating areas, beer tasting and talks throughout the afternoon. Just maybe don’t expect to come back with a new Ferrari…

Location: Sadler’s Yard, Hanover Street, NOMA, M60 0AB.
