Things to Do This Weekend

Every week we’ll be giving Joes the best things to do this weekend no matter where you are in the country. Whether it’s the best new bars, clubs, restaurants, films or events, we’ve got you covered!

Things to Do This Weekend in London

ABQ London
Daily. £30.

Last weekend we headed to the Breaking Bad-inspired cocktail making experience, ABQ London, and this weekend we recommend you do exactly the same. The premise is simple; enter an RV, put on your yellow overalls, and get cooking. Science, bitch. The cocktails on the menu are all inspired by the show, and each cocktails need some novelty scientific gadget to make.

Your ticket gets you 2 hours in the RV which includes the cooking of 2 cocktails and a welcome drink. We had a brilliant night at ABQ London and we can’t recommend it enough. The hosts were attentive, fun and enthusiastic and the attention to Breaking Bad details is amazing – there’s a giant neon Heisenberg watching over you, for example. Just don’t wear any sweaters – things can heat up when you’re cooking!

Location: 455 Hackney Road, E2 9DY. Nearest Station: Cambridge Heath.

Big London Night Walk 2017
Friday 3rd March. £25.

Now in its 7th year, The Big Issue’s Big London Night Walk sees upwards of 300 participants walk 20km through central London after nightfall all in the name of helping the homeless. Along the walk, you’ll hear real life stories and insights from former and current Big Issue vendors before setting off to your next location.

The walk starts at St John’s Church near Waterloo at should finish at the same point any time between 1am-4am. Hot drinks and light snacks will be provided along the way and there’ll be 5 rest stops throughout the night. We think it’s a great way to the city in a different light and it also happens to be for a great cause.

Location: St John’s Church, 73 Waterloo Rd, SE1 8TY. Nearest Tube: Waterloo.

When it comes to craft beer in the welsh capital, there’s one name that always crops up and that’s The Cambrian Tap on Mary Street. Cardiff’s premier hoppy haunt is perfect a couple of drinks on a lazy Sunday afternoon and also ideal for a session on a Friday night.

The pub features plenty of rustic woodwork and industrial charm, and while it does showcase brews from the Brains Craft Brewery, The Cambrian Tap also offers some of the best crafts and ales from around the world. Their homemade pies scotch eggs are also to die for. Perfect for the weekend.
