The New Cross + Deptford Free Film Festival is back for 2017, and this year invites you to 31 film screenings taking place across ten-days starting this Friday. And guess what? As always, everything is absolutely free.
This year’s festival is dedicated to the late, great Gene Wilder, but the festival kicks off Friday with the Chef + Launch Party at The White Hart in New Cross. Record Store Day and Night at Eastern Bloc Records
Saturday 22nd April. Free.
This Saturday marks Record Store Day 2017, a day where you stop those downloads and head to your local musical emporium. And we say what better place to celebrate the occasion than by heading to Manchester and its famed Eastern Bloc Records.
Having relocated from its huge Oldham Street unit to Stephenson Square, Eastern Bloc still offers a specialist selection of house, techno, dub, and everything else in between. And to celebrate the day, they’ll have resident DJs spinning tunes for a whole 19 hours of music, from 8am to 4am.
Location: 5A Stevenson Square, M1 1DN.

Gung Ho! Obstacle Course
Saturday 22nd April. £50.
The world’s biggest inflatable obstacle course and 5K challenge Gung-Ho! is back in the UK this weekend and its headed to Windsor. The 5K run includes ten inflatables – three of which are new for 2017, with the five-storey-high, 200ft-long Thriller slide being the highlight. And this year, they’ve added water!
The inflatable course will be filled with enough air to pump up more than 100 million footballs, making it the biggest course of its kind anywhere. It’s not a timed event, so five ‘waves’ of runners can set off in their own timed slots between 9am and 2pm. Regardless of age, Gung-Ho! is a ridiculously good day out.
