Things to Do This Weekend in London
Dalston Beer Day
Saturday 24th June. Free.
With the temperatures soaring, chances are you’ll be looking for an open space which sells beer by the pintful this weekend. Well, lucky for you 40ft Brewery are hosting their Dalston Beer Day on Saturday, with the all-day beer festival celebrating some of the best brews the capital has to offer.
As well as all of 40ft Brewery’s beers, popular names in the UK brewing community will be on duty such as Pressure Drop Brewing, Modo and Unity Brewing Co. The event is free to enter, but it fills up pretty quickly so make sure you get there nice and early if you can.

London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival
Sunday 25th June. Free.
The London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival will be celebrating its 22nd edition at London’s Regatta Centre this weekend. 40 teams will take to the water to battle it out throughout the day for 6 cups. The competition sees teams of 16-20 people, ranging from beginners to seasoned paddlers, take part in 3 race heats, with dragon boats and drums provided.
On land, the event’s accompanying food festival will be offering the authentic tastes of South East Asia. There’ll also be entertainment provided on the East West Festival stage, showcasing new artists from the East and West, martial arts displays, and traditional Chinese lion dancing.

Things to Do This Weekend in Manchester
MCR Beer Week

Manchester’s only city-wide beer festival returns this weekend for its second year, bringing with it a range of events at pubs, bars, breweries and restaurants. The festival is all about celebrating the beauty of beer, pub culture, the brewing industry and beer’s relationship with food.
70 venues have got involved for the festival, and 30 breweries from the area will be serving up their brews too. While beer is obviously the focus of the festival, there’ll also be whole load of events with food, art, history and music in mind. Head over to the MCR Beer Week Website to see the full programme.
Things to Do This Weekend in Birmingham

The touring Foodies Festival hits Birmingham’s Cannon Hill Park this weekend. Michelin starred and award-winning chefs alike will be cooking up a storm at this year’s festival with local producers and workshops also turning up for food lovers young and old.
The 11th edition of the festival brings with it over 200 exhibitors, a Street Food Village, the brand new Cakes and Desserts Theatre, a Kids Cookery School, Live Music Stage, Healthy Living Area, Chef’s Theatre and Food and Drink masterclasses.

Glasgow Jazz Festival

The Glasgow Jazz Festival returns this weekend. The world renowned festival has been going ever since 1987 and included the likes of Sarah Vaughan, Chick Corea and Taj Mahal in its inaugural year. Other top headliners throughout the decades have included Buddy Guy, Tony Bennett and none other than Miles Davis, so there’s no doubting the Festival’s pedigree.
The festival takes place across 4 nights at various venues across Glasgow. This year’s line-up features a wealth of home-grown and international jazz talent, with Neil Cowley Trio, Ginger Baker, and Greg Cohen & Declan Forde Duo the real standouts.
