Things to Do This Weekend

Every week we’ll be giving Joes the best things to do this weekend no matter where you are in the country. Whether it’s the best new bars, clubs, restaurants, films or events, we’ve got you covered!

Things to Do This Weekend in London

The Enchanted Woodland
Until Sunday 4th December. Adults £9, Children £3.

For the 11th year running, West London’s Enchanted Woodland at Syon Park will see the 600-year-old gardens and their 400 specimens of tree transformed by specially designed illuminations and lights. Walk around the gardens and get into the festive spirit even before we hit December.

The route around the park can be completed in 30mins if you’re a fast walker, but we’d recommend you take your time – this is Instagram heaven! Be warned though, it is a bit of a mission for London standards and the nearest station is a half hour walk away. We still think it’s fully worth the trek!

Location: Syon House and Park, Brentford, TW8 8JF. Nearest Station: Kew Bridge.

Star Wars Identities
Saturday 18th November 2016 – Sunday 3rd September 2017. From £10.

Fellow Star Wars nerds will be able to get to know the characters of the saga like never before with the Star Wars Identities exhibition at the O2. Beginning this weekend, the exhibition will showcase a stunning collection of costumes, models, props, and artwork from all of the films.

There’s around 200 original costumes, props, models, and pieces of artwork in total including a BB-8, an R2-D2, Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon and even an AT-AT. Virtually all Star Wars characters will be represented in one way or another and dozens of objects are being exhibited for the very first time.

Location: The O2 Arena, Peninsula Square, SE10 0DX. Nearest Tube: North Greenwich.

Things to Do This Weekend in Bristol

Bristol Pizza Beer & Fizz Festival
Saturday 19th November. Adults £14, Children £7.

Joes of the West might be pleased to learn that this weekend marks Bristol’s first ever Pizza Festival. And not just Pizza – a Pizza, Beer & Fizz Festival. Local foodies Foozie have partnered up with some of the best pizza traders in Bristol giving Joes and Janes the chance to sample the lot.

You’ll get four pizza tokens with your entry ticket and you’ll be able to swap each of them for a quarter of a pizza from any of the traders – or you can swap all four for a whole pizza from your favourite. Bristol’s best craft beer breweries will be around too to provide a fully stocked craft beer bar and there’ll also be a Betty the Pink prosecco van on duty to provide the fizz.

Location: The Old Fire Station, Silver Street, BS1 2AG.

Things to Do This Weekend in Manchester

Chorlton Makers Market
Saturday 19th November. Free.

If you’re into your weekend markets, Manchester’s Chorlton Makers Market is the place to be this weekend. With locally grown vegetables, award-winning pies, organic cakes, fine wines and coffees, gifts, fashion, photography and more on offer, Chorlton Makers Market has the lot.

The market comes to Chorlton once a month, taking over the area around Oswald Road Primary School and Chorlton Library, and this November’s event is set to be the largest to date with over 85 makers and vendors on duty. There’ll also be live music throughout the day.

Location: Oswald School and Chorlton Library, M21 9PN.

Things to Do This Weekend in Birmingham

Ice Skate Birmingham
Saturday 19th November 2016 – Sunday 8th January 2017.

Located within the iconic Centenary Square near the Frankfurt Christmas Market, Ice Skate Birmingham is back this weekend, giving Joes the opportunity to enjoy this winter sport in beautiful city surroundings.

There’s over 600sq. metres of ice meaning that Ice Skate Birmingham can accommodate whopping 300 people at a time! Along with the opening of the rink, the Big Wheel will also be opening this Saturday, giving you the best view of the city.
