Every week we’ll be giving Joes the best things to do this weekend no matter where you are in the country. Whether it’s the best new bars, clubs, restaurants, films or events, we’ve got you covered!

Things to Do This Weekend

Things to Do This Weekend in London

Natural History Museum Ice Rink
Until Sunday 7th January. From £12.65.

As we head into the first weekend of November, it’s time we started to get excited for Christmas. And one of the sure signs the festivities are coming to London is the opening of the Natural History Museum Ice Rink. Thanks to the beautiful backdrop of Alfred Waterhouse’s buildings and a majestic Christmas tree in the middle of the ice, it’s become a real London Christmas classic.

For 2017, the rink will provide all the usual festive fun with skating for all ages and abilities, and this year Hotel Chocolat will be in attendance, serving up some luxurious hot chocolates and sweet treats. The Café Bar, with its viewing balcony overlooking the ice, will also once again be open to all.

Location: Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, SW7 5BD. Nearest Tube: South Kensington.

Spirit of Christmas Fair
Until Sunday 5th November. From £20.

If you want to get ahead of the game or just want some inspiration, the UK’s leading high-end Christmas shopping event, the Spirit of Christmas Fair, returns to Olympia London for its 17th year this week. Featuring gifts from over 800 independent boutiques, all vendors were hand-picked by the Spirit of Christmas Fair gifting experts

There’s something for everyone here with items covering all aspects of gifts; home, fashion, baby & child, decorations, health & beauty to jewellery and men’s. Even if you don’t find anything that suits, the Spirit of Christmas Fair is the perfect way to get into the festive mood.

Location: Olympia London, Hammersmith Road, W14 8UX. Nearest Station: Kensington (Olympia).

Things to Do This Weekend in Manchester

Fireworks in Heaton Park
Saturday 4th November. Free.

This weekend, it’s Bonfire Night. That means there’s a whole host of fireworks displays going on up and down the country. And one of the best in the UK will be taking place at Manchester’s Heaton Park. The park has long been the epicentre of Manchester’s bonfire night festivities, and this time year will be no different with fireworks, an on-site bonfire and a funfair.

The park opens at 5pm with the bonfire lighting beginning at 7.30pm closely followed by the display. This is most definitely a family event so alcohol is prohibited and Heaton Park can get pretty rammed, so we’d recommend turning up as close to 5pm as possible! Check out our full list of UK Fireworks Displays here.

Location: Heaton Park, Middleton Road, M25 2SW.

Things to Do This Weekend in Cardiff

DEPOT’s 3rd Birthday Party
Saturday 4th November. Free.

One of our favourite venues in Cardiff celebrates their 3rd birthday this weekend, and DEPOT plan partying in style! To celebrate three years of events, street food and alternative nights out, DEPOT’s 3rd Birthday Party will feature live music, street vendors and craft beers.

Alongside their playlist, there’ll also be ping pong and 241 cocktails in the unique surroundings of DEPOT’s warehouse dreamland. As usual, there’ll also be a selection of fine street-food traders on duty, covering everything from tasty tacos, loaded pizzas to hot chilli. Plus, entry is completely free!

Location: DEPOT, Construction House, Dumballs Road, CF10 5FE.

Things to Do This Weekend in Birmingham

Digbeth Dining Club
Every Friday & Saturday. Free.

If you’re after some relaxed street food dining this weekend, Digbeth Dining Club is always the place to be in Birmingham. The multi-award winning event arguably changed the face of Brum’s alternative food scene when it started in 2012. And in a short of space of time, they’ve established themselves as the premier food, music and entertainment space in the city.

The Club takes places every Friday & Saturday so vendors chop and change regularly. But if they’re on duty, we’d recommend the Thai street food from Buddha Belly, the BBQ meats from Low N Slow, and DDC regulars Flying Cows who have just been crowned for creating Britain’s best burger at the 2017 British Street Food Awards.

Location: Spotlight, Lower Trinity Street, B9 4AG.
