Things to Do This Weekend in London

Taste of London
Thursday 16th – Sunday 19th November. From £15.

Taste of London is back at the Tabacco Dock this weekend, bringing with it a showcase of the capital’s best restaurants, top chefs and leading food and drink brands. The events take place twice a year with London’s greatest and most exciting restaurants serving taster size signature dishes, while world-class chefs appear in live cooking demonstrations.

The Taste of London Festive Edition is the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season in style. The Tobacco Dock will be transformed into a foodie wonderland brimming with festive tipples and masterclasses to get involved with. This weekend will also see the largest cheese competition on the planet, The World Cheese Awards, come to Taste of London!

2017 World Press Photo Exhibition
Until Monday 20th November. Free.

This weekend presents your last chance to see the 2017 World Press Photo Exhibition at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. For the 21st year in a row, the free exhibition brings together 152 winning photographs from the annual World Press Photo Awards to London’s Southbank, showcasing some of the most powerful, emotional and often disturbing press images of the year.

In its 60th year, this year’s winners of the World Press Photo Awards were drawn from a bank of 80,408 images taken by 5,034 photographers from 125 countries. The subjects of the images on display range from documentation from rallies protesting police brutality, reports from war-torn terrains and striking images selected from nature and sports editorial.

Cheese Fest Brum

Cheese Fest returns to Birmingham’s Custard Factory this weekend, bringing with it the UK’s best cheese traders and street food vendors who’ll be providing melted delights for you to try, taste and buy.

From traditional cheeses to mozzarella sticks, halloumi fries and the most amazing mac and cheese, expect to learn about all types of cheese, wines and the best beers that go along with those cheeses at an event that will melt you into a deep love of all things cheese.

Things to Do This Weekend in Norwich

Norwich Film Festival

The 7th Norwich Film Festival concludes this weekend. Committed to showcasing the very best of independent short film from both local and international filmmakers, the festival has been bust screening 100 excellent films over the course of the last two weeks, as well as holding 24 events, including regional premieres and industry talks and panels.

The festival concludes this weekend with a couple of events at The Forum. In the afternoon, it’s your chance to check out the latest short films from East Anglia’s finest with The East Collection Short Screening. That’ll be followed by the BAFTA Shorts Tour 2017 which will feature a selection of short films that impressed BAFTA judges during this year’s awards. Things to Do This Weekend in Manchester

Bunny Jackson’s

Bourbon and blues bar Bunny Jackson’s has finally got a permanent residence in Manchester. Bringing a slice of the Deep South to First Street, the former B.Eat Street stalwart has just replaced The Liquor Store on Jack Rosenthal Street and features some New Orleans-inspired hospitality with live music stage and a corrugated metal-clad bar.

Behind the bar, Bunny Jackson’s shelves are stacked with a wide ranges of bourbons and whiskeys, served straight up, as ‘duet’ chasers paired with beers or in a range of classic and contemporary cocktails. Bunny’s will also be serving up a southern-style food menu centred around sandwiches such as po’ boys, burgers and French dips. Live music will take place on Sundays and Mondays, while upstairs you’ll find pool, beer pong and darts.
