Every week we’ll be giving Joes the best things to do this weekend no matter where you are in the country. Whether it’s the best new bars, clubs, restaurants, films or events, we’ve got you covered!
Things to Do This Weekend in London
Urban Village Fete
Sunday 20th May. Free.
While it’s not officially summer yet, we have had some better temperatures recently and the sun is meant to be shining this weekend – the Royals ordered it. So what better way to celebrate British Summer Time than with a village fete? Urban Village Fete is a contemporary take on the English tradition with loads of crafts, food and activities for all the family.
It takes place in the Greenwich Peninsula (right next to the O2) and sees some of London’s finest performers, vendors and designers all congregate for some workshops and street food spanning the globe. Radio 6 Music DJ Gilles Peterson will be on duty too and there’ll be interactive workshops with everything from en-masse drumming to hoola hooping sessions!
Location: Peninsula Square, Greenwich Peninsula, SE10 0SQ. Nearest Tube: North Greenwich.
Museums at Night
Until Saturday 19th May.
One of London’s greatest assets is undoubtedly its plethora of museums. And we think the best way to enjoy them is by seeing them at night when galleries and heritage sites, as well as museums, throw open their doors after hours to showcase their contents in unexpected ways. Well, this week you can do just that thanks to the bi-annual Museums at Night festival!
Organised by non-profit cultural publisher Culture24, all UK museums are invited to open their doors to Joes and Janes up and down the country. The event started Wednesday and runs through until Saturday. Check out all the London highlights here.
