Netflix has just dropped the first trailer for Triple Frontier; its forthcoming original film which sees Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac and Son’s of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam star as a team of ex-US Special Forces soldiers joining forces to pull off the heist of a lifetime. OK, it doesn’t look like the most original of concepts but the cast has certainly got us intrigued…
Starring Oscar Isaac, Ben Affleck, Charlie Hunnam, Pedro Pascal and Garrett Hedlund, Triple Frontier sees the all-star cast teaming up to steal a serious booty from a dangerous South American drug cartel. Naturally, plans go array and the team are faced with a fight for survival.
“Make no mistake about it. You guys need to own the fact that we do not have the flag on our shoulders. You cannot go back to your normal life after tonight,” claims a stirring Affleck before they head into battle.
Usually we’d ignore this sort of Netflix film but the cast in undoubtedly stacked. The likes of Kathryn Bigelow, Tom Hanks, Will Smith and Channing Tatum were also rumoured to be linked to the project before it finally landed with Netflix. Not only that, the film will also be getting a rare theatrical release; usually a sure sign that Netflix thinks the film has legs. The screenplay was co-penned by Mark Boal too, who wrote and produced The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty.
Triple Frontier is set to hit Netflix and select cinemas in March 2019. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments below or over on Twitter!
