Instagram has quickly become one of the most important social influences around. Whether you’re looking for travel inspiration or after the latest style trends, ‘Slammin’ a Gram’ (as we’re reliably informed it’s called by our 15 year old cousin) connects with audiences like no other social media platform. And the same can be said when it comes to architecture. So we’ve picked out 7 of our favourite architecture lovers from around the world that you should be following on Instagram…

7 Architecture Lovers You Need to Follow on Instagram

Sebastian Weiss (@le_blanc)

Operating under the alias Le Blanc, German photographer Sebastian Weiss is an architectural photographer, BFF Professional and photo columnist for AD Architectural Digest Germany. Quite simply, he’s the King of Arch-Insta. His close-up, abstract style is instantly recognisable and, rather aptly for the platform, was born out of having to capture large buildings that fit onto small smartphone screens. The result is a feed of sharp lines and short bursts of colour that make Le Blanc essential following.

Jeanette Hägglund (@etna_11)

If you’re after minimalism, look no further than Jeanette Hägglund AKA. etna_11. Her iPhone-only architecture photography is characterised by pastel colourways and clean cut block rendering. If ever a feed deserved the hashtag #skyporn, this would be it!

Hufton+Crow (@huftonandcrow)

Award-winning British photographers Nick Hufton and Allan Crow, otherwise known as Hufton+Crow, use their feed on Instagram to document their travels around the globe with architecture the main focus of their imagery affections. Taking photos of buildings old and new, big and small – as well as some lifestyle shots – the duo’s account is probably the most eclectic on our list.

Iwan Baan (@iwanbaan)

Dutch photographer Iwan Baan has been labelled in the past as ‘the rock star of architecture photography’ and if his iPhone-only Instagram feed is anything to go by, it’s an apt observation. Self-dubbed ‘a diary of travels with the iPhone’, Baan’s feed is perfect for those who want a healthy dose of travel inspiration with their arch-daily. Featuring everything from landscape aerial shots to portraits, it’s his interior photography which really captures the attention.

Cristóbal Palma (@estudiopalma)

Having worked for the likes of the Monocle, Wire, and The New York Times, Chilean-based Cristóbal Palma has quite the pedigree. Like many on our list, he studied architecture before dropping out to pursue a career photography, focusing primarily on architecture and urban landscapes. The vast majority of his Instagram features designs in his native South America, offering a great perspective of trends in the region.
