Take a Look Inside Joshua Vides’ Cartoon Wedding Chapel in Vegas
Weddings are stressful. Which is why some of the more spontaneous engaged like to get things done nice and quickly by heading to Vegas for a shotgun ceremony. Well, there’s a chapel in town. Located at the Palms Casino Resort, Til Death Do Us Part is a black and white wedding chapel made for ‘an Instagram-worthy wedding, vow renewal or photo shoot.’
Designed by graphic designer and visual artist Joshua Vides, the 800-square-foot installation is based the Guatemalan-American’s interpretation of the famed A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. His version, however, is characterised by 2D animated cartoons.
Utilising his childlike, illustrative style, Vides’ Til Death Do Us Part chapel is intended to create an ideal backdrop for ‘Instagram-worthy’ pictures. As such, everything in the chapel – from the benches, to the pulpit, to the entrance – are presented in black and white sketch-form.
Further illustrating Instagram’s influence on architecture and design, white background and thick black marking outline everything and even form decorations such as imaginary windows with reflections, circular spotlights in the pitched ceiling, and curtains.
Couples staying at the Palms Casino Resort can chose from a range of packages for the Til Death Do Us Part chapel, ranging from just having access to it to take photos to a full blown party with a ceremony, dinner and reception, as well as a one-night stay in the resort’s ‘Make Good Choices Suite’.
The Til Death Do Us Part cartoon chapel is open from today (Friday 18th January 2019) and will is available to hire for wedding ceremonies, vow renewals and accompanying photos. Prices range from around £195 – £4,250. Find out more over at the Palms Casino Resort Website.
