Athletes Bare All for ESPN Magazine ‘Body Issue’
ESPN Magazine have finally released images from their upcoming annual ‘Body Issue’, which celebrates the range of shapes, sexes and sizes from the world of sport. This year’s ‘Bodies We Want’ feature sees nineteen scantily-clad world-class athletes posing for some seriously stunning shots.
Among those featured in ESPN’s ‘Bodies We Want 2016’ are seven Olympians who are set to head to the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, as well as three NFL stars, two NBA players and one MLB player.
Of course we were naturally drawn to the female athletes, who include April Ross (Beach Volleyball), Christen Press (Football/Soccer), Allysa Seely (Paratriathlete), Courtney Conlogue (Surfing), Emma Coburn (Steeplechase), and Nzingha Prescod (Fencing).
The athletes agreed to bare all with a focus on shooting their ‘natural’ state in celebration of their bodies. As well as some of the lesser known names, there are some giants in the sport who took part, such as UFC fighter Conor McGregor, NBA All-Star Dwyane Wade, MLB star Jake Arrieta, and NFL veteran Vince Wilfork.
This ESPN Magazine ‘Body Issue’ was also particularly significant as it’s the first time they’ve featured a transgender figure in triathlete Chris Mosier. Head over to the ESPN Website to see more images.
