Irina Shayk for ES Magazine
The World Cup may be over but that doesn’t mean we have to stop turning our attention to Russia, or more specifically to a certain Russian. We’re talking about the always gorgeous Irina Shayk who’s just been featured in the Evening Standard’s ES Magazine. And we’re pleased to report she’s in stunning form.
Styled by Jenny Kennedy and photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth at the Hôtel Les Roches Rouges on the Côte d’Azur, Irina Shayk is dazzling in the cover story for for ES Magazine July 2018. The supermodel is interviewed in the magazine and talks about everything from her childhood to the concept of beauty itself.
In her interview, Irina talks about moving from Russia to Paris in order to support her family through modelling. Her father was a coal miner and died when she was just 14, while her mother worked as a school music teacher. This meant money was tight and Shayk wanted to make a career for herself and her family.
Irina also opens up about other models mocking her curves and her darker skin in the early days. But Shayk does believe the tide is turning against body shaming; “We live in the 21st century and women have to express their sexuality, and they should not be ashamed of their bodies.”
Shayk is currently partnered up with actor Bradley Cooper and they had their first child last year. She says she avoids doing topless and nude editorials these days, unless the project has a clear and artistic identity. Check out the full interview here.
Irina Shayk may no longer be with Cristiano Ronaldo, but take a look at the wives and girlfriends of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, including his current partner Georgina Rodriguez.
