adidas Consortium x Bodega ZX Flux
adidas Consortium have teamed up with celebrated Boston-based retailer Bodega with a reworking of the ever-evolving ZX Flux silhouette inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey!
Taking influence from the iconic art direction in the film, as well as some of the promotional artwork, Bodega have put their mark on the adidas ZX Flux with an all-Black upper that utilises the trainers lightweight mesh construction. In addition the slow-paced story-line and classical music is celebrated with a warm palette of Reds, Yellows, and Oranges combined with the deep Black of outer space.
The Black upper of the adidas x Bodega ZX Flux is made from adidas’ revolutionary densely woven nylon which features an asymmetrical panel with strands of reflective yarn covering the full toe-box and parts of both sides, while the tongue and heel stabiliser are made from suede leather.
Just as the White interiors present a distinct contrast to dark space in the film, the off-White outsole with a speckled back panel offers the same contrast to the upper of this ZX Flux. The pale Yellow and Orange highlights are also taken directly from the film and are a reflection of the space-suits used in Kubrick’s masterpiece.
You’ll find Bodega signet branding on the tongue and heel labels. You’ll also have a choice of three coloured laces as the Bodega ZX Flux comes with Black, Red and off-White laces with Bodega-branded tips.
The adidas Consortium x Bodega ZX Flux trainers will be released next Saturday 25th July and will be available from various outlets including End Clothing for around £90.
